CCTV kini sering digunakan oleh beberapa orang sebagai alat pengaman dirumahnya. kini CCTV telah di pasang di beberapa tempat, misalnya saat ini di busway sudah di pasangkan CCTV agar mengurangi tindakan pelecehan / kriminal. Saat ini, baru satu bus Transjakarta yang dipasang empat unit CCTVdi koridor V (Kampung Melayu-Ancol), yakni bus gandeng dengan nomor GTM 65.  ’’Kalau ada kehilangan, lapor pada petugas dalam bus, nanti petugas akan memeriksa seluruh penumpang saat berhenti di halte terdekat,’’ kata Kepala Badan Layanan Umum (BLU) Transjakarta Muhammad Akbar.

“Kami sudah tempatkan 1.575 petugas on board didalam bus Transjakarta di 10 koridor busway. Kami juga tempatkan 100 petugas keamanan di 100 halte busway,” ujar Akbar, Rabu (19/10/2011).

Pihak manajemen bus Transjakarta menempatkan ribuan petugas keamanan dalam bus untuk memantau dan mengawasi penumpang.  ’’Jika ada penumpang yang mencurigakan, maka petugas berhak untuk menegur penumpang tersebut,” tambah Akbar.
